Vinegar

From the Courage Wiki:
"Muriel is the show's damsel in distress. Due to her kindness and sweet, naïve nature, she is an easy (and often attractive) target for villains. She is always nice to strangers, invites them into her home, and fails to see when they are plotting. Fortunately, she has Courage to save the day. He also helps her in many of her household duties."

Muriel is portrayed as a sweet old lady who loves her dog courage, she is a simple down to earth housewife, and because of that she is often the first to get in trouble with the monsters. She loves courage unlike Eustace  and often beats her husband for treating courage the wrong way.

Character rating: 6/10

Muriel is a simple character that repeats the same things over and over and over again through each episode never really changing. For this reason I've lowered her score. However she is a very good supporting character as she helps courage a long and is often saved by him.

How About Some Granny Stew?

By popular demand, I bring you... Katz! Katz is one of the prime antagonists form the show courage the cowardly dog, he is a sly con artist that aims to fill his own greed. There is nothing Katz loves more that his spiders and he even has a motel where the guests are fed to them.

Character Rating: 9/10
Katz is a popular character in the show, and everybody who loves the show... loves him. He is a great addition to the cast of the show and I couldn't think of anyone better

Le Quack

From the Courage Wiki:
"Le Quack is skilled and decisive. His manipulative tendecies are especially harmful when coupled with his devious intellect in psychological persuasion. Like most of the antagonists in the series he is much stronger than he appears to be. As a con artist, he bears many faces, each with an uncravable lust for monetary gain. To get what he wants, he will use whomever he may, and subject the rest to his disturbing and rather unorthodox methods of torture. His containment is short lived, as he is able to free himself from any prison and leave it in wastes behind him."

Dr. Le Quack is one of my favorite characters in the show, he is funny, smart and is just a great addition to the cast of the show. He stars in many episodes as the main antagonist where courage is forced to go against him and many of his schemes.

Character Rating: 7/10
He is a great addition to the show, but his background is not well built and he just appears in the show, if Courage was still running, then I would have suggested a filler episode describing him.

Oh no!

From the Courage Wiki:
"Courage is the primary protagonist of the show, who lives in the middle of Nowhere with his owners, the Bagges."

Well based off of the comments for two stupid dogs, I noticed that not a lot of people knew the show as a kid. So I've decided to come back to that at a later date and move on to a new show for awhile... Courage the Cowardly Dog! One of my all time favorites, it's a mix of horror cartoons and comedy and is a kicker for all ages. I plan on doing some character outlines before any episode reviews so stay tuned!

Video of the Week!

Two Stupid Dogs Commercial from the the 90's

You never know when you might want to wash some dishes!

This episode is quite a simple one, big dog puts his head through a hole in a fence, leading little dog to believe he's stuck. Little dog tries all sorts of things to get him out of there but it all fails. He heads off by himself but no matter what he does "It's just not the same". He realizes he shouldn't have left his friend a tells big dog that "I'll stay here forever, or even longer... till Christmas!" and proceeds to make a hole in the fence for himself to peer out of. After posing the question Big dog answers "Nothing" and the camera reveals that there is a barren wasteland in front of them.

Plot: 6/10
A simple plot with the moral that friends are important, displayed in a manner that children can understand.

Enjoyment: 5/10
Only a few jokes in this episode, mainly being comments made by little dog, earning it a 5

Overall: 5/10
The episode receives a fair score dude to it's lack of enjoyment but the score doesn't drop that much due to the moral plot.

Where's The Food?

This episode is the first episode of Two Stupid Dogs to be aired. It is short, around 8 minutes as there were three episodes per "run time".

The episode Red starts off with little dog in the meadows playing with flowers exclaiming about how he loves nature. Big dog soon asks "Where's the food?" and little dog proceeds to offer him various things to eat such as "tree bark, tasty rocks, etc" big dog declines all of it. Suddenly a slice of cheesecake is spotted on a rock, but before they can get to it it is picked up by Red (little red riding hood) and is put back in her basket. Red can't see very well so she mistakes big dog for her granny and asks them to lead her to "Granny's House". Instead they wander into the house of the three bears. Following the porridge routine the trio goes to bed.
The following morning little dog rushes down stairs yelling CHEESECAKE CHEESECAKE! But before the trio can snack on their cake, the three bears come home and maul them.

Plot: 6/10
The plot provides a small twist to the fairy tale story of the three bears and red riding hood, while also introducing the viewer to the fact that the two dogs love food.

Enjoyment: 7/10
The episode is full of adult references and is quite funny to both the older and younger viewer.

Overall: 6.5/10

Two Stupid Dogs!

The next show in my series of reviews will be... you guessed it! Two Stupid Dogs! The show is one of my childhood favorites, about... two stupid dogs! Follow along with the adventures of little dog and big dog as they do stupid things!

The customer? I'll boil the customer in hot oil and I'll RIP OUT HIS...

From the Spongebob Wiki:
"At the Krusty Krab, Plankton is hiding inside of a ketchup bottle, hoping to be shot onto a krabby patty. However, the ketchup is used by Old Man Jenkins, who accidentally shoots it towards the wall. Plankton shoots right through the wall into Mr. Krabs' office, and Mr. Krabs shoots him back to the Chum Bucket. That night, Plankton laments about he wishes that he could switch lives with Mr. Krabs, then Karen suggests that he uses the "Switch Lives to See What It's Like Machine" he built last Tuesday. Plankton does so, and wakes up in his Mr. Krabs' office, wearing his uniform, and sees a name plate reading "Mr. Plankton" and a photo of him with Pearl. Plankton realizes that he has successfully teleported to a universe where he was successful, and has an alternate SpongeBob give him two Krabby Patties for "bun inspection". While Plankton is in his office, drooling over the Krabby Patties and celebrating his newfound power and wealth, SpongeBob suddenly appears for his weekly performance review. Plankton tells him that he's been using too much sauce, which has made him very sad. To calm him down, Plankton promotes SpongeBob to "co-cashier", much to the disdain of that universe's Squidward, who enters his office to complain, and is made fry cook. Before Plankton can get back to his Krabby Patties, an alternate Pearl, now his daughter, comes into the restaurant, asking for an "advance" on her allowance. Plankton gives her only one dollar, which makes her start crying proclaims that her "father" hates her. An angry customer then confronts Plankton, complaining about the hiedously disgusting Krabby Patty produced by Squidward. Before Plankton can call in Squidward, SpongeBob appears, saying that he "soiled the Krusty Krab name" by giving a customer a large soda when he had asked for a medium. Amidst this confusion, an alarm suddenly sounds and everyone begins hiding. An alternate Mr. Krabs (called by Krabs), who now has the life of Plankton, and is completely naked, as Plankton normally does not wear clothes, appears, with a Krabby Patty in hand. SpongeBob tries to shoot Mr. Krabs using a cannon that shoots clothes. As Mr. Krabs attempts to escape with the Krabby Patty, Spongebob eventually hits him with a woman's bra and makes him admit defeat and throws the Krabby Patty to Plankton, he is though still confused about what is going on. As Krabs leaves and the people at the Krusty Krab give a "victory screech". Krabs tells Plankton that he will come back every day. Plankton finally snaps and tells everyone he will see them all in therapy and teleports back to the mainstream continuity. The episode ends with Plankton returns to his old life when Karen gave him holographic meatloaf. Plankton then says it is his favorite and begins eating it."

Well, it's that time once again... another review! This time we're going to be looking at the episode of Spongebob called "The Algae's Always Greener", you've seen the plot now it's time for a review.

Plot: 8/10
The plot reflects a thought that almost every person has had before... What would it be like to change bodies? And this episode shows that you should be careful what you wish for. The plot is a popular one but is presented in an alright manner.

Enjoyment: 7/10
Plenty of funny jokes in this episode, giving it a ranking of 7.

Overall: 7/10
This is an old episode, but IMHO it's not to shabby.

Looking to add fulfillment to your dull, dull life? Then become a part of the greatest musical sensation ever to hit Bikini Bottom and be forever adored by thousands of people you don't know.

From the Spongebob Wiki:
"Squidward gets a call from his high school classmate, Squilliam Fancyson, who is very successful and has succeeded in everything that Squidward failed in. He asks Squidward for his band to substitute for his own at the Bubble Bowl (a parody of football events such as the Super Bowl), believing (correctly) that he does not have one, However, Squidward denies that he doesn't have a band and accepts the offer. He assembles a large marching band, comprised of various Bikini Bottomites, including all the other main characters.
During their one week of training, the band performs consistently badly and fails to improve at all. This Includes the Drummers throwing the sticks pinning Squidward to the wall and Patrick and Sandy get in a fight when he kicks Sandy, as a result he gets a trombone stuck up him. (He thought the figure of speech 'Start kicking' meant to kick someone).
On day two, while practicing a march, two flag twirlers are killed when they fly into the air and crash into a blimp, as result of them spinning too fast, at Squidward's demand. They all mourn and play 'Taps', except for Squidward, who just collapses to the ground. On the third day, Plankton plays his harmonica, but becomes exhausted from having to run from one place to another since he is very small and collapses. On the last day of practice, Squidward says if everyone plays loud they'll be good but instead they play so bad Squidward changes the idea of loud to quiet. A heckler gets upset when he is accused of bad playing then Mr. Krabs gets in the idea and everyone gets into a huge brawl smashing the instruments and hurting people offensively until the end of class. At this time, a grieving Squidward expresses his disappointment in all of them and goes home to grieve over his failure. However, SpongeBob convinces them to go through with the performance for Squidward's sake. He says that if Squidward were someone who did something they'd never forget then maybe they should do something for him. So he takes command of their training.
On the day of the concert, Squilliam shows up to see Squidward's failure, and he claims that his band died in a marching accident. However, Squidward's band shows up and he is forced to go through with the performance. They enter a large glass dome, which rises up and takes them to a live-action football field for a team called the Showboats, complete with human fans. Squidward turns his head away from the band before they begin, assuming that the performance will be a disaster, but the band is tremendously successful, playing a rock ballad of Sweet Victory. Squilliam goes into a state of shock and faints from a heart attack, leaving Squidward to celebrate his "Sweet Victory"."

Probably one of my favorite episodes of any TV show, now my boner for this episode aside it's time to give a honest, flacid review.

Plot: 7/10
The plot in "Band Geeks" is quite typical in the sense of a bunch of newcomers coming together to complete a common goal, often in a humorous way.

Enjoyment: 8/10
The episode has quite a few funny jokes for children and adults, however it get's dull at some points. The music performance at the end really boosts this episode's ranking.

Excuse me...You are sitting on my body, which is also my face.

From the Spongebob Wiki:
"At the beach, Plankton arrives to turn the beach into the future site of the "Chum Bucket Mega Bucket", and demands everyone to leave the beach. However, due to his tiny size, no one listens to him. He concludes that he needs someone big to help clear the beach for him, and encounters SpongeBob. Plankton decides to trick SpongeBob into being "assertive" in order to get the things that he wants. At first this doesn't work, as SpongeBob is naturally kind and naive. Plankton decides to give up, but SpongeBob promises to prove to him his ability to be assertive. Plankton gives SpongeBob another chance, and this time is successful in teaching him how to be mean. After a series of cruel and rude actions by SpongeBob, such as stealing everyone's hot dogs and popping a volleyball, everyone leaves the beach. Plankton then reveals his true intentions to SpongeBob, making him very upset. SpongeBob defeats Plankton by becoming "aggressively nice", performing kind actions that attract the people back to the beach. Plankton leaves the beach, disgusted by the overwhelming amounts of kindness."

This is an older episode of spongebob, but none the less funny!

Plot: 4/10
The plot isn't very interesting in this episode of Spongebob, in fact it's one of lesser quality. A very boring plot if you ask me

Enjoyment: 9/10
The enjoyment factor makes up for the bad plot, with hilarious jokes and quotes from the episode you can be guaranteed to have a laugh no matter what age you are.

Overall: 8/10
"Walking Small" Is one of the more "comical" episodes of Spongebob and as such it deserves a higher ranking than most.

It's a swirling, world of sparkling white pleasure. Let it fill your senses with cascading fluffy pillows of excitement and comfort, as you've never felt them before.

From the Spongebob Wiki:
"SpongeBob and Patrick are racing to Sandy's Treedome to play. However, the dome has a metal cover on it, and a "KEEP OUT" sign. They go inside the entrance, where they find a television. The television turns on and plays a video, which shows Sandy in a nightgown, eating acorns to store up for the winter. Sandy (on the TV) explains that she is hibernating for the Winter, and that they shouldn't disturb her. However, Patrick insists that they should go in. They open the door, and see that the inside of her treedome is filled with snow, which they are unfamiliar with. They go into the tree and find a monstrous, obese Sandy, sleeping.
However, when they make too much noise in her room, she suddenly gets up, sleepwalking, and attempts to kill them, believing them to be "Dirty Dan" and "Pinhead Larry", outlaw villains from her dream. However, she soon falls back into her bed, asleep, with Patrick making sure she won't get up again by giving her a pair of earmuffs. SpongeBob and Patrick leave the tree to play in the snow. They pretend to be Dirty Dan and Pinhead Larry, mocking Sandy, and begin fighting over which one of them is Dirty Dan. However, the vibrations from them wacking each other with a huge snow shovel(SpongeBob) and a massive baseball bat with a nail through it(Patrick) knock off the earmuffs, allowing Sandy to hear the ruckus, which alerts Sandy, who she comes out of her tree and begins to attack SpongeBob and Patrick. She immediately throws Patrick aside when he is not looking, and then chases SpongeBob until he falls into a pit. SpongeBob tries to throw a small piece of wood at her, but Patrick comes and gets in the way, accidentally taking the hit. He falls into the ditch and then Sandy pounces on them, beats them up, buries them alive, and goes back to bed. As the winter storm grows more intense, SpongeBob and Patrick try to escape, but find that the door's frozen shut. Unable to survive in the cold weather, they go into Sandy's tree and rip off all her fur,SpongeBob makes his share into an "eyebrow/goatee combo" and Patrick fills his pants with the fur he ripped off.. SpongeBob proclaims that he is prepared for the "longest, coldest Winter ever!!" However, Winter quickly comes to an end and Sandy wakes up, normal sized. She is surprised to see SpongeBob and Patrick, but soon realizes that they are wearing her fur and that she is nude. The last scene shows Sandy drinking lemonade with SpongeBob and Patrick, whose bodies are wrapped around her to form a makeshift "coat"."

Seems like an interesting episode. Let's review it!

Plot: 7.5/10

One of the more developed plots of the TV show that doesn't totally revolve around childish humor. There are various adult references and it just takes a keen ear to spot them.

Enjoyment: 8/10
Personally I find the jokes and whatnot on this episode to be quite entertaining. With various morphs of the characters and funny arguments it's a extremely hilarious episode.

Overall: 7.5/10
Read above.

If you don't get out of here, by the power invested in me, I now pronounce you man and wife!

Well this is a hilarious quote from the hit episode Mermaid Man and Barnacle Boy.

From the Spongebob Wiki:
"Whilst pestering Squidward, SpongeBob and Patrick learn that their heroes, Mermaid Man and Barnacle Boy, are in fact living in the Shady Shoals underwater retirement home, and they try to bring the two out of retirement, much to the annoyance of the geriatric Bikini Bottom superheroes who only want their TV fixed. SpongeBob and Patrick go through all kinds of hilarious antics to reunite their superhero pals and eventually succeed, thereby creating Mermaid Man and Barnacle Boy's new show: The New Adventures of Mermaid Man and Barnacle Boy.
When Mermaid Man sits down, a comic book bubble appears and dramatizes the word "SIT!!". This is an obvious pun on the old Batman Series. The phone gets broken, and when Mermaid Man hangs up the phone, the bubble appears again and says "HANG UP!". Will our heroes ever get their phone fixed? Tune in next week and find out. And when SpongeBob winks, a yellow bubble comes up and says "WINK!!!!" The ironic thing about this is that in most comic books, the dramatization of simple words usually comes in on action fighting scenes, but in this SpongeBob episode, it exaggerates the word dramatization."

Well there's the plot, now it's time to get down to the review:
Plot: 6/10
Reason: The plot is a very simple one, but sometimes simple is best as this episode leads to a large number of following ones. You could consider this the root of many episodes.

Enjoyment: 7/10
Reason: The jokes in this episode make various references to other comic books, like towards the end it makes fun of the emphasis on fighting scenes by emphasizing words such as "Sit!" "Hang up!" etc

Overall: 6.5/10
This is a very simple episode from season one that starts the chain of all the "New Adventures of Mermaid Man and Barnacle Boy" episodes. It has few but very funny jokes and the plot is not well constructed focusing on childish humor more than anything.

Well what are you waiting for? Can't you see I don't want you anymore? Just get out of here, you stupid, dumb animal!

If that's a phrase you remember then you've probably seen the episode of Spongebob titled "My Pretty Seahorse"
From the Spongebob Wiki:
"It is Springtime in Bikini Bottom, and Patrick is emerging from his rock and storing away his Winter "coat" (sweater), burying it like a dog bone. SpongeBob, meanwhile, proclaims that he has "Spring Fever", and greets the flowers in his yard. When Squidward steps out of his house, SpongeBob asks him if he has said hello to the flowers as well. Squidward does so sarcastically, and the flowers hiss at him, causing him to run inside, terrified. SpongeBob concludes that Squidward has "Hay Fever" and, as an act of kindness, decides to plant him some hypoallergenic flowers. He does so, and the moment he takes his eyes off the flower to grasp the watering can, he discovers it's been eaten. Surprised, he plants another one, which meets the same fate as he again reaches for the watering can. Determined, he plants another one and doesn't take his eyes off of it for 3 days, but when he does, it gets eaten. SpongeBob then discovers that the culprit is a green seahorse. SpongeBob is fascinated and imagines him and the horse together riding, and decides to tame her.
Later, as he watches the seahorse, it is lured toward him his floral bookmark, which it eats. They become friends and begin to ride around and do things together. As Squidward is biking to work the next morning, SpongeBob races past him on his horse, which he has named "Mystery". Squidward then rides off a cliff and causes a nuclear explosion when he hits the ground. When SpongeBob reaches work, he leaves Mystery outside at the bike post. Two fish approach Mystery and mistake her for a kiddy ride. One suggests the other to try it out, and when he inserts a coin into her "slot", Mystery kicks him into the distance, and he blows up on impact. The other fish runs away screaming, causing Mr. Krabs to come out and see what the trouble is. He sees Mystery and mistakes her for a monster; SpongeBob tells him she is his pet, but even though she is harmless to SpongeBob and not the others, he is ordered to get rid of it and if he disreguards his order, he will be fired for not cooperateing with him.
SpongeBob attempts to hide her in a cupboard in the kitchen until Patrick finishes building a stable. SpongeBob offers Mystery a Krabby Patty, which the horse begins craving after eating. After she craves, Mr. Krabs overhears this noice, and angrliy comes in and confronts SpongeBob, threatening to fire him if he sees Mystery still here, but, however, he dosen't see her and leaves. After narrowly avoiding being caught by Mr. Krabs, SpongeBob realizes he has to be more careful. Squidward catches Mystery after an order goes missing, and Mystery goes on an eating frenzy while a crowd of customers became angry. Mr. Krabs finaly catches SpongeBob nursing a sick Mystery in the kitchen, who is suffering from a stomach ache, now knowing that he had broke the rule. Mr. Krabs then gets angry at him and tells him he is going to get rid of both, Mystery and SpongeBob, who is responsible for breaking and disreaguarding the rule, himself, but SpongeBob pleads for mercy, explaining that Mystery is her friend and that he loves her.
Mr. Krabs, feeling sympathy for SpongeBob, tells him a story of his favorite dollar and how he eventually spent it for a soda on a hot day. He tells SpongeBob that Mystery needs to be freed because the indoors in not a place for a wild animal, and SpongeBob consents and takes the horse out the front door where he makes her leave. He cries as she leaves without hesitation. Mr. Krabs comforts SpongeBob until Squidward shows him an empty safe. Realizing that Mystery ate the Krusty Krab's finances, SpongeBob and Mr. Krabs chase after her. The show ends with Patrick trying to get into a hat store, but the wooden plank nailed to his head blocks his way."

Now that we've got the plot down, it's time to get to my review of the episode:

Plot: 7/10
Reason: The plot is very childish with very childish jokes that anyone can get, this is both posiitve and negative making it boring for older watchers while more exciting for the younger.

Enjoyment: 7/10
Reason: Same as above.

Overall ranking: 7/10
The episode is an average Spongebob episode consisting of childish jokes and small minded humor for those reasons it has achieved a very average ranking of 7 due to its lack of anything exceptional

Spongebob What-pants?

We've all heard the annoying childish laughter of the yellow sponge! Spongebob is a kids show airing on Nickelodeon that shows the adventures of a Yellow sponge named... well Spongebob Squarepants!
